1. For this maneuver, locate a long, flat, straight stretch on an uncrowded trail. 2. Start from a normal striding and gliding movement. 3. Quickly push outward to your left side using the inside edges of your left skate. Apply the maximum amount of force to your edges that you can generate in the shortest period of time. 4. Raise your left skate only about 2 to 4 inches off the surface. 5. Quickly pull your left skate back under your body to the home position next to your right skate. 6. As soon as your left skate touches the pavement, quickly push outward to your right side with the inside edges of your right skate. Apply the maximum amount of force to your edges that you can generate in the shortest period of time. 7. Raise your right skate only about 2 to 4 inches off the surface. 8. Quickly pull your right skate back under your body to the home position next to your left skate. 9. Repeat steps 3 through 8 above and continue to
