Ollie Crooked Grind Ollieing Stairs Regular-Goofy

Regular-Goofy

Information:
There are two ways to stand on a skateboard. They are called Regular and Goofy. Both stances are generally the same and neither one has any advantage over the other. The skateboarder will be more comfortable riding one of these stances than the other. Regular and Goofy are simply the names of the stances and do not mean anything.

Regular:
The skateboarder stands on the board with his/her left foot closer to the front of the board, and his/her right foot closer to the back of the board.

Goofy:
The skateboarder stands on the board with his/her right foot closer to the front of the board, and his/her left foot closer to the back of the board.

Regular Or Goofy?:
There are a few ways to figure out if you should ride regular or goofy.

1. Simply stand on the board and try to ride. The way that feels more comfortable should be the way you ride.
2. Without thinking about it, walk up a set of stairs as you usually would. The foot you used on the first step will be your front foot when skateboarding.
3. Find a slippery or smooth surface. Take a run at it and slide across on your feet. The foot that was in front will be your front foot when you skateboard.
